Victim-Witness Information

San Benito County District Attorney – Victim Witness Assistance Program
The San Benito County District Attorney’s Victim Witness Assistance Program has a team of advocates who work with victims, witnesses, and their families throughout and beyond the criminal justice process.

It is our mission to compassionately and effectively protect the rights of victims while providing services that meet the unique needs of those impacted by crime. Through crisis intervention, advocacy, information and referral, the goal is to help alleviate the psychological and emotional trauma incurred from victimization.

Additionally, our aim is to facilitate the victims’, survivors’, and witnesses’ recovery and ability to actively participate in the criminal justice system. Personnel also can assist crime victims with the processing of claims with the California Victim Compensation Board (CalVCB).

As required by Penal Code section § 13835.5, the Victim Witness Assistance Program offers both mandatory and optional services.
